Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
Drive Time: ~2.5 hours
Main Activities: Game Drive in Tarangire National Park
After breakfast or upon your morning arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your professional guide will greet you and give a short safari briefing. From here, begin your journey southwest to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most underrated gems.
Tarangire is known for: Towering baobab trees, a symbol of ancient Africa, largest concentration of elephants in northern Tanzania, seasonal wetlands and the Tarangire River, a vital water source that attracts huge numbers of animals during the dry season
Spend the day exploring the park’s rugged landscapes on a game drive. You’ll likely see large herds of elephants, as well as lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, impalas, and potentially leopards. Bird lovers will enjoy spotting vibrant species like lilac-breasted rollers, yellow-collared lovebirds, and ostriches.
In the late afternoon drive to your lodge or tented camp in the nearby Karatu area, nestled in the green highlands between Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro.

Day 2: Tarangire – Serengeti National Park (Central)
Drive Time: 3–4 hours (with game viewing en route)
Main Activities: Transfer & Afternoon Game Drive in Serengeti
After an early breakfast, set off for Serengeti National Park, one of the most celebrated wildlife reserves on the planet. Drive through the lush Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where the landscape transitions from rolling highlands to the iconic flat grasslands of the Serengeti.
Optional Stop: Olduvai Gorge – An important paleoanthropological site known as the “Cradle of Mankind”
Arrive in the Central Serengeti (Seronera region) in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. This region is a year-round wildlife haven, famous for its big cats and abundant prey. You’ll traverse open savannahs, riverine forests, and rocky outcrops known as kopjes, home to lions and leopards.

- Lions lounging on granite rocks
 - Cheetahs hunting on the open plains
 - Hyenas, jackals, giraffes, and thousands of grazing animals
 - Migration herds (seasonal: typically April–June and October–November in this area)

Day 3: Serengeti (Morning Game Drive) – Ngorongoro Crater Rim
Drive Time: ~3–4 hours to Ngorongoro with game viewing en route
Main Activities: Morning Game Drive + Transfer to Crater Rim
Start your day with an optional sunrise game drive, this is the best time to catch predators in action. After breakfast, enjoy a final game drive in the Serengeti before exiting the park and heading back east toward Ngorongoro.
En Route Highlights:
- Scenic drive across the Ndutu woodlands and crater highlands
 - Possible encounters with Maasai communities grazing cattle along the way
 
Arrive at your lodge located on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, offering one of the most iconic views in East Africa. Relax and enjoy the evening with sweeping views of the crater floor below.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater Safari – Return to Arusha / Airport
Drive Time: ~3–4 hours to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport
Main Activities: Crater Game Drive
Today you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s largest unbroken volcanic caldera. This massive basin supports over 25,000 animals in a self-contained ecosystem, including Africa’s densest population of large mammals.
Wildlife You May See:
- The Big Five: lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and (sometimes) leopard
 - Huge concentrations of zebra, wildebeest, and gazelles
 - Hippos lounging in pools and flamingos on Lake Magadi
 - Hyenas, jackals, and numerous bird species
 
After a picnic lunch near the Hippo Pool, ascend the crater walls and begin the return journey to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your departure flight.
