Terms and Conditions
Our Terms and Conditions
1. Acceptance
Making a booking with Serengeti Corridor Tours & Safaris (“the Company”) constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions by the customer.
2. Booking Tours
a) Making a Booking
Booking a safari with us is an interactive process. Once you’ve reviewed our guides and sample trips, and have an idea of your ideal itinerary, you’ll begin communication with our team. We’ll work closely with you via email, direct messaging, or phone to refine and confirm the best safari package for your dates, preferences, and group size.
Once an itinerary and quote are agreed upon, we will issue payment instructions for your deposit. Upon receipt, we will confirm your booking and send a registration form to collect additional information such as arrival details, dietary restrictions, or other preferences.
We do our best to honor special requests included in our registration form. However, requests made outside of it are not considered part of the binding agreement.
The Company reserves the right to decline a booking at any time prior to issuing confirmation paperwork.
b) Price Guarantee
After receiving your deposit, we guarantee the prices quoted, except in the following cases:
Estimated Future Prices: When booking well in advance without confirmed supplier rates, we may include estimated increases. Final pricing will be clarified at the time of final payment. Clients are obligated to cover increases up to twice the estimated amount.
Government Taxes/Fees: Unexpected changes in park fees, taxes, or other government-imposed charges must be paid by the client.
Fuel Surcharges: If suppliers raise costs due to fuel, these may be passed on to the client.
Major Quotation Errors: We reserve the right to correct significant underquoting.
Exchange Rate Shifts: Significant shifts may result in added costs.
3. Payment Terms
Camping Safaris: 10% deposit
Lodge Safaris: 40% deposit
Tailor-Made Safaris: 10% to 70% deposit depending on package
Final balances can be paid upon arrival (cash preferred). Payments may be made via bank transfer, credit card, or online platforms (e.g. PesaPal). All payments must be made to Serengeti Corridor Tours & Safaris’ Tanzanian accounts only. No offshore accounts are used.
For group bookings, individual payments are accepted, but all communication and responsibility lie with the designated group leader.
4. Payments and Invoices
All payments must be completed before the safari begins. Clients must email proof of payment after transfers. All associated payment charges (e.g., credit card fees, bank fees) are the responsibility of the client.
5. Currency
Quotes are in USD, Tanzanian Shillings, or Euros. USD is preferred for cash payments, but Euros and GBP are accepted. Banking details are provided upon request.
6. Tour Modifications
a) By the Company
We strive to deliver tours as quoted but may need to modify itineraries due to availability, weather, or other unforeseen issues. In such cases:
Small substitutions (lodges, order of visits, number of nights, transport providers) may occur.
Major issues (e.g., road closures, natural disasters) may require alternate arrangements.
Clients must accept these adjustments unless they constitute a major contractual change.
b) By the Client
Changes requested post-booking may incur administrative fees. Additions may not carry a fee. Cancellations of elements will follow standard refund policies.
7. Cancellations
a) By the Client
Cancellations within 10 days of departure: No refunds
Cancellations before 10 days: Partial refund (subject to lodge policy and less transaction fees)
In some cases, a credit note may be issued instead of a refund
b) By the Company
We may cancel a tour due to supplier failure, force majeure (e.g., political instability, weather), or legal restrictions. A full refund of land services will be issued. We are not liable for external costs (visas, flights, vaccinations).
8. Insurance
All clients must obtain comprehensive travel and medical insurance covering trip cancellation, emergency medical care, evacuation, loss or theft, and high-risk activities. Serengeti Corridor Tours & Safaris is not responsible for clients’ failure to secure appropriate coverage.
9. Tour Suitability & Behaviour
We reserve the right to remove any participant who causes disruption, endangers others, or is medically unfit for the tour. All resulting costs are the responsibility of the client.
10. In-Trip Issues
Clients must report any issues promptly during the trip to allow for corrective action. Post-trip complaints without on-site reporting may not be entertained.
11. Liability Limitations
Serengeti Corridor Tours & Safaris is not liable for loss, injury, or damage due to causes beyond our control, including (but not limited to): strikes, terrorism, animal attacks, health emergencies, force majeure, or third-party negligence.
We expect clients to exercise basic safety and awareness, particularly in public spaces and towns.
12. Additional Activities
Optional excursions not booked through us are not our responsibility. We are not liable for services or activities outside of the agreed itinerary.
13. Flights and Transfers
Flight delays or cancellations are the responsibility of the airline. We will help rearrange plans but are not liable for missed services as a result. Bookings made less than 7 days in advance are at the client’s risk.
14. Health and Safety
Clients are responsible for health precautions, vaccinations, and travel hygiene. Tanzanian safety standards may differ from those in developed countries. Special requirements (e.g., child seats) must be requested in advance.
15. Supplier Terms
Many services are operated by third parties under their own terms. We can provide copies of these upon request.
16. Customer Protection
To protect our clients:
We prepay all key suppliers.
We hold client balances in a separate account until after their safari.
Clients must have travel insurance for cancellation or disruption.
17. Legal Jurisdiction
All disputes shall be governed by Tanzanian law and handled within Tanzanian courts.
18. Fraudulent Inquiries
We pursue legal action against competitors posing as customers to obtain confidential information.
